In this episode, I discuss the power of understanding the WHY in your real estate investing business. By the why, I mean why is being successful in real estate important to you. What does it mean to you to be successful in your business? If you have a powerful enough why, you will be able to overcome any obstacle.
If you don’t have a powerful enough why, this business can crush you. Not because it’s a bad business or because you’re a bad business person, but any business will have its ups and downs and it is very difficult to push past the problems and challenges that you face without having a compelling reason for why you’re doing it. I know that was the case for me in the beginning. I felt overwhelmed, I felt insignificant, and I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to do it at times. But I had powerful reasons why I was doing it. You need to have powerful reasons too. My reasons are not going to be your reasons, and your reasons are not going to be someone else’s reasons.
My challenge for you is to sit down today and make a list of as many compelling reasons as you can think of why you want to be successful in real estate. If having money is one of the reasons then I would ask you to dig deeper and think about what having that money would mean to you, and what it will enable you to do. Money alone is not a great long-term motivator.
