Whether or not you invite your kids to help you in your real estate business is an entirely personal decision. There are a few factors to consider:
- their desire to be involved
- their age
- their skill set
- your desire to have them involved
- your comfort level with them having intimate knowledge of your business
Ultimately, it boils down to their interest in the business, your desire to get them involved, and how they can be helpful and learn in the process.
It is my personal opinion that kids need more exposure to entrepreneurial pursuits than they are usually given in today’s society. Schools do not teach entrepreneurialism, so their first opportunity to learn is from their parents. Real estate investing is not for everyone, but the lessons learned from running a small business are invaluable.
