I’m feeling grateful today, and I want to take this opportunity to remind you to thank the people who have already helped you in your business.
I know that I’m guilty of really focusing on what comes next and what the future holds for my business. I get very focused on pushing, and I can forget the people who helped me get to where I am now. These are people like realtors, private money lenders, other investors–they’re people in my life who have helped me get from where I started to where I am now. You don’t want to forget about these people.
Sometimes we get so caught up in push, push, push, that we forget to thank the people who helped get us to where we are. When I say thank them, I mean literally. My mentor once said that you should try, at least once a month, to reach out to someone who has affected you and your business and thank them in some way–maybe send them a small gift, a card, or even just shoot them a text or an email saying that you value your business relationship. It may sound a little unnecessary to some people, but it really is important. When you make the effort to give that extra touch to the people who have helped you, it will go a long way to them feeling appreciated by you.
Make that a part of your routine, and you will be glad you did. Those acts of kindness might even come back and help your business in the long run.
